don't forget - the nest is the best... i promise you
an eventful day on the rash/pirate front! after a lovely afternoon of frolicking with pirates on a secluded ionian beach, kristen and caitlin acquired rashes! to remedy this, we got cream (see this photo, and others, by clicking the "europe photos" link to the left, way down).
in all seriousness, we rode a pirate boat today, more eloquently dubbed a "caique", pronounced "cake". we love caique. caitlin was not seasick, but we are all sunburned. we sailed the blue aegean sea, sporadically shouting "arrr!" and "opa!" towards our very own secluded beach, as mentioned above, where we had a very sexy photo shoot, courtesy of dan from quebec (relax, scott and blair). additionally, kristen jumped off the caique! it was quite a distance, probably four meters down (see photo).
this evening we wandered the streets of ios town, getting lost a number of times in the narrow winding cobblestone streets. in contrast to our prior encounters with greek men, we got garbage thrown at us today, most likely because christine didn't wear makeup. however, we may have merely intruded upon the "hood" of these ten-year-old hooligans.
in explanation of the title, i assure you, the nest restaurant is indeed the best in ios town. i assure you.
one of the many occasions on which we found ourselves lost this evening, we passed an elderly, toothless greek woman and her teenaged grandson. in response to our "yassas", she pointed to her grandson and shouted "no good!" this may also have occurred because christine was still not wearing makeup. poor ios citizens.
make sure to check out our pictures, because it took alot of time and money to post them! (the link to the left that says "europe photos")
hey kristen's dad: i figured out how to do it all by myself!

Your Friendly Weather girl is BACK!!!
So this is what the week looks like in Rome.
Wednesday - High of 27, low of 13 with chance of Showers. So don't forget to pack your rain gear and your hats for sunshine
THursday- 29/14, some cloud
Friday- 29/16, clear. DOn't forget to wear sunscreen. And I noticed from your pictures you've been neglecting to wear you hats. Don't you know that 68.9 percent of canadian travellers who don't wear hats get a rare form of sunstroke that leads them to buy impulsively. We would not want that now would we???????
Saturday- 28/15 with a slight chance of cloud.
Sunday- 28/17- Sunny with no CLOUD!!! Don't forget to find a church. It would be really cool to see a service in Italy.
je t'aime,
-Erika
I'm so glad to hear everything is going so well (minus the rashes) yet am kinda jealous (not about the rashes). As happy as I am here in Canada trying to start planning this wedding adventure, I would give anything to come back to Europe. You will all learn and grow so much - this trip will change your lives! (And you'll know how to say "train station" in 6 different languages lol) Rome next? Post lots of pictures, have lots of fun, and send lots of love!

Bonjourno!!!
Wow. you're going to florence... I've always wanted to go there. (and by always, i mean since learning about it's past in history last semester). I hope you girls are having a lovely time. Here is your three day weather forcast for time you might possibly spend in Florence.
29th- High of 30/17 with sig. chance of rain. This will be one of the only times when you can run around in the rain in your bikinies.
30st- 25/9 This is sunny with slight chance of cloud. As your weather girl it is my job (and now I have half my first aid) to ensure that you don't get sunstroke, heat rashes ( AGAIN!!), or severe sunburns. I've invented a new method to ensure maximum coverage- first fill your bath tub with sunscreen (the really goopy banana boat kind). Then, jump in and make sure your completely sunk in the sunscreen. Finally, step out of the bath ensuring not to accidently rub off any sunscreen. NExt, completely wrap your WHOLE body in saran wrap. This will insure that the sunscreen stays fresh. If necessairy you could also try and refridgerate yourself by finding an industrial refigarator or just really squishing into that mini-bar. This will insure you are protected from dangerous UV rays and i'm pretty sure will help your skin stay youthfull. As well, if any men try to hug you, you will slip right out of there grasp..... literally.
31st- 18/8 with slight chance of cloud. I know what your thinking.... no sunscreen today... but I"M WATCHING YOU!!! it's still warm out. cover up. I've made you all Sombreros that should be arriving shortly in the mail. They have very wide brims to protect you from those pesky uv's and i've glued on sequens in the shape of the canadian flag (tastefully of course). You will now be able to identify that your canadian from the space shuttle.
Your friendly weather girl,
Erika <><
